Some site changes

First off, there are a few things I want to address
relating to this site, mainly download related.
This site's traffic is going pretty well, but I'm
finding most of my "hits" to be
downloads only with no real visitors. I have made
some changes after reading up on my logs and
such, and I decided to shaft the download
protection since many sites are starting to take
notice of our "Themes Fix",
"Xtreme Theme", and "Xtreme Theme
2" downloads. Once I have established
traffic patterns, I'll reinstate the download
protection and only those sites will be
permitted.
I will be updating the "readmes" in all
downloads to keep the info and license info
fresh. A note to you people who want to include
any of my fixes, themes in a theme, or fix pack.
Go ahead and do it, but all I ask is that you
include appropriate credits.
The OpenRPG PHB (Players Hand Book) for 2 The
Xtreme has been updated. If you downloaded it
before Sept 30, 2002 please redownload to ensure
you have a current version.
For the past several weeks, I have been thinking about
redoing the whole site's theme, and/or migrating to
another CMS system.Currently, this site is using a
modified PHP-Nuke installation, and I'm thinking about
changing over to PostNuke because of some features that
PHP-Nuke is lacking in. Either way, I'm very open to any
suggestions you may have.
Also, for the past several days, I have been thinking
about flushing the user database. At the time of this
writing, our site has 117 registered users, and I know
several of these are just "fillers" and that
are not even used often. Flushing the user database will
take us back down to 0 users and will require a
re-registration of the site. Any thoughts on this?
These are just a couple things that have been crossing
my mind lately, and I'm open to any comments, suggestions
and/or critsism. Any comments suggestions can be tossed
up by posting a comment, or posting in here.

Another Update

Here's an update on whats going on.
For the next several weeks, I'll be around town looking for a job and running other errands and whatnot. During this time, the game may or may not be played on the proper days. Once everything settles back down, and I find a steady job, the game may be subject to recheduling. As of Tuesday, September 24, 2002, The game is not guaranteed to be played, on-time or at all.
However, I have some Great game related news that may interest other role-players out there as well as my current players, but I will not post the news till I know for certain. Once I know for certian, I will make an official statement. I'll keep everyone posted on this development.

Important Update

I had this bad toothache, and so I pretty much chilled and
worked on the site a little, so I have a shit load of updates to tell you about.
First off, I released a simple "bug fix" for
phpnuke where many themes and modules link to a user.php
and a article.php file. My little fix properly forwards
all requests to the correct location, thus avoiding those
"File not found" errors. You can get this and
other files from the PHP-Nuke downloads category.
Second, I added a category to the downloads named
PHP-Nuke, and moved all my PHP-Nuke related downloads
there.
Also, in the forums I merged the Lounge and Off-Topic
forums into one, and added a PHP-Nuke forum. You do not
have to register to post or reply in that forum so you
aren't required to register .
Finally... The most important update. The game will resume on
schedule on Tuesday, September 10, 2002.
Thats all..... Wasn't it enough?

Game Status Update

Just thought I'd keep everyone updated, I managed to live past
the move, though I still have a considerable amount of work to do
everything is fine. I'll wait and see how everything goes and if
most of everything is fine next Monday, we might resume the game
on September 3, 2002, 8:00 PM EDT but no promises .
Note To Players: Since my records got screwed
up in my recent computer hiccup and this seems like a good moment
to make sure I have the proper info, though it appears to be
out-dated., I'd like for you to re-email me your Name, Character
Name, Character Credit Card number and Character License Number
if available. Though I'm not requiring this, it would greatly
improve the accuracy of my records and will help me recover your
characters money.

Well, I got some good news , and some bad news and some so-so news ...
Bad News:
I'll be moving this week, so the game will not be played for the
next couple weeks (hopefully all goes well and we can play next
week, but no promises).
Good News:
I may have found the problem with my computer, and I have
recovered almost all data except last 2 sessions info. All of
this can be dug outta the game logs.
So-So News:
There are still a few things that I couldnt recover and they're
long gone now... Those are Player Database (This has your email
addy, name, and character name), The Credit Card Server (I still
have an older database backup, but my players can help me recover
their character's CC number so this is no biggie), and I also
lost some other miscellaneous GM notes and such. My players can
help me recover most of this data.
